"The priest, Luis Lopez Villa, was born on January 20, 1946 in Santiaguillo . He was ordained a priest in Amecameca, Mexico, on July 18, 1985. Everyone, priests and lay faithful in the diocese of Nezahualcoyotl, are shocked and saddened by this news", continues the statement sent to Fides. The Bishop of the Diocese of Netzahualcóyotl, His Exc. Mgr. Hector Luis Morales Sánchez, commented that Father Lopez Villa was brutally murdered while he was in his room on Wednesday, July 5th. A first police report informs that the priest had been bound and immobilized, hands and feet with tape, and had two deep wounds, one on the neck and one on the left side of the chest. >>
